Mesmerizing Molecular Machines
One of the most amazing things one can learn about in biology are molecular machines. Every time I read about them or see an animation of one, their design blows me away. In the cell there are many tasks that need to be done, molecular machines come to the rescue. These tiny machines do every thing from transport (kinesin, which actually "walk" on the cell's internal scaffolding carrying "packages") to a true turbine that pops together parts to make ATP or the "energy currency" of the cell. These are just two examples of these molecular machines, there are many many more just as cool! The design of these machines are staggering, truly one can only assign divine origins to these devices.
